Richard’s Story

Site created on July 24, 2022

Dick fell while working on the farm on July 20th. He hit his head on the concrete, and after regaining consciousness was able to get himself back into the house. He was placed into a medically induced coma upon arrival at the hospital, where scans showed he had a traumatic brain injury. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement, and especially prayers. Thank you for visiting.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Tyler Thompson

It's been just over a week since he's come home. And he's doing better than we could have anticipated.

Physically he's getting stronger every day. Using a walker (and sometimes without) to get around the farm.

Cognitively he's doing much better too. Keeping sons and grandsons busy with mowing and bailing hay. He's also sleeping a lot less during the day now.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. It definitely feels like we witnessed a miracle in his recovery.

If you'd like to visit with him, just give Judy a call to see when would be ok.

And for the updates here... Just consider no news as good news :)
