Richard’s Story

Site created on June 27, 2020

Richard was recently diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).  This is a type of B-cell non-hodgkins lymphoma, a cancer of the immune system.  In MCL, abnormal B cells grow out of control and may crowd out healthy B cells in the lymph nodes, bone marrow, and other organs.  The treatment plan at this time will be high dose of chemotherapy for approximately the next 6 months.  Followed by a stem cell transplant.  The good news is that this is a curable cancer!  Richard is going to fight this beast with everything he has!  We know his family and friends are behind him to support him and  help him along the way!  We know that everyone would like to visit, but at this time with the current COVID -19 pandemic, and his weakened immune system we ask that there are no visitors.  Please leave your words of encouragement and support on this page.  Richard will be on periodically to check messages, and interact with everyone. You can contact his daughters Anita 620-755-3997 or Annie 816-517-7536.
