Journal entry by Richard Brown

Today is the day. CTs were taken on Monday and the follow up was today (Friday). The doctor came in and said it's all looking good, nothing was mentioned on the CTs meaning everything looked normal. In addition, the bloodwork is all coming back within normal limits or non existent. A lot of emotion was pent up waiting to hear back if the all clear was there or if more chemo would be necessary and it all came out as soon as I heard those words.

The next steps? We wait 2 months and redo the scans and bloodwork and if all is still good, I will have my port removed in July. From there, frequent check ups to make sure nothing is creeping back into my body. This will go on for 5 years with more time in between check ups as the years progress. The thing to keep in mind for me is that I may not show any signs or symptoms of cancer if it returns except for the blood work emphasizing the need for follow ups. My immune system should be back to itself within a couple weeks and hair will grow back hopefully within a month or so.

Everything else is just a waiting game, so for now, today, I'm going to enjoy myself. Couldn't be more thrilled of the good news and thank you to all that helped. I couldn't have done it without you.
