Journal entry by Donna Mathews —
So happy for February! This past month has been challenging to say the least! Reuben suffered at least 20 of the past 31 days. We celebrated New Years Eve with the first 21 day cycle of chemo. The nausea began before he finished the treatment. Honestly there are no words to describe the feeling of such helplessness! All of you and your loved ones who have experienced this understand, but I was so naive ! Blessings to all for your suffering!
Jan 22nd cycle 2 began. After some medication adjustments, symptoms are better. Reuben's blood work numbers are improving slowly which gives us Hope!
Reuben has been working hard at Physical Therapy. He's walking better and has regained mobility in his right shoulder and leg from bone damage. Sometimes with a step forward we take on new issues. Swelling began in the right leg and has become severe. Docs are working on a solution while Reuben pouts every time I say "elevate."
When I say Reuben's Strong, I mean in heart, attitude, determination, faith, and love. With God he can do anything!
Thank you for all prayers, messages, calls and friendships!
