Journal entry by Rene Hovland —
Wanted to update everyone so I went to Rochester yesterday for a follow appointment. I had labs, CT scan and appointment with my GI Doctor. So the good news it that my Pancreas looks good! Yeah! But the CT scan showed that I have Bilateral Fractures of my Sacrum. The Sacrum is the triangular shaped bone at the end of your spine. It’s situated at the upper, back part of the Pelvis. I actually have what is called a Bilateral Sacral Ala Fracture. From what I understand the Ala serves as part of the border of the Pelvis. 🥺
The cause of the fracture is from steroids. My bones have become weak because of the steroid use, which we ( the doctors) all knew.
I have an appointment today in Rochester to see a Physical Medicine Doctor to find
out the course of treatment. My doctor has taken me off the Steroids and Autoimmune Suppressors and I will have a repeat appointment with him on November 18th.
Thank you all for your prayers and continued support! I’ll update you all in what I find out today! I just have little old lady bones now. 👵which is fitting because I am a grandma 👵 now!!
