Family and Friends QUICK reminder!! WE ARE NOT ASKING for DONATIONS!! Please do not add $.

Our mom, Renee, had brain surgery at St. Agnes Hospital on Thursday, April 25, 2019.  This happened 1 week after being admitted thru the ER with a blood pressure reading of 260/106.

PLEASE CHECK THIS SITE FOR UPDATES ON MY MOM’S PROGRESS.  THERE’S NO NEED TO DONATE AS THIS SITE IS ASKING FOR DONATIONS, OUR ONLY CONCERN IS THAT YOU HAVE AWAY TO STAY INFORMED.  YOU MAY LEAVE HER A MESSAGE HERE, WE’LL SEE THAT SHE GETS IT.

The week prior to Easter, (Mon. 4/15) Renee was at home watching TV in her room and eating when she described a feeling of numbness on one side and slumping over.  She doesn’t remember much more; however, her son noticed on Wednesday that her conversation was loopy, she had a scar on her face (as if she’d fallen) and she was very forgetful from one word to the next.  Her son took off work the following day to pay closer attention to her and suggested to Renee that she should go to the ER and be checked out.  At the ER, after MRI/CT Scan it was found that she had a rather large Meninges Tumor (the meninges is the skin covering the brain). It was pressing on the left frontal lobe.   The surgical procedure on 4/25 revealed the tumor was benign and successfully removed.

To date – Renee has no movement of her right limbs and she is right handed.  PT is currently being administered to strengthen her ability to use her left hand and encouraging movement of her right hand and leg.  She’s also having trouble regaining her speech, as she is not talking at all.  She’s having trouble answering questions by head nod and find some conversation confusing especially questions.  She suffers lots of confusion.

THE GOOD SIGN is she’s now laughing out loud if you tickle her humor memory, i.e., funny stories make her laugh.
