Newest Update

Journal entry by Ree Thompson

Time to update again so you know what’s going on. Mike was taken in for surgery yesterday afternoon and they found that he had scar tissue wrapped around his colon. They released it and cut it away. The colon opened up and everything is working well. That’s all I’m going to say about that. LOL!! I just talked to him and the doctors have been in and he will be coming home this afternoon. It will be really good to have him home. I got some rest last night and I am feeling better this morning. The good news is as I am starting to see some improvement in my back and my ability to walk. I have not had a spasm in my back and leg in over a week which I am extremely thankful for because they are debilitating. It would seem that the medicine, the way I am eating and Almighty God are making all the difference in the world….and not necessarily in that order. I am so aware that God is hearing all of our prayers and I am so thankful to Him in the midst of everything going on. I learned something yesterday in a big way. It was something that I knew but had never experienced in this way. God tells us in His Word to be thankful in all things and in all things he can make them good. While we were waiting for Mike to go to surgery, we had some friends from church visiting as well as our sweet son. Just before they were leaving, everyone took a turn to pray. As I told Mike later,  if this had never happened to him, we would’ve never had that opportunity to hear our son pray. There aren’t words to tell you what that meant and to get to see how far he has come with his Lord and Savior. We are so blessed!  My adventures with God are always so interesting and just the best! I just have no idea how people get through things in life without having Jesus by your side, behind you, and in front of you. I would not want to miss that for anything!
