Reese’s Story

Site created on August 31, 2020

Welcome to the best place to stay consistently updated on Reese's fight to get out of the CICU at Medical City!

We will continue to post major events on Facebook, but, for the day in, day out updates and for the realest of the real, this blog is where you can find the minutia of Reese's journey.

We named her Reese Caroline for a reason. Her names mean "fiery" + "joy," and we have seen both of those already. She has brought so much joy to her family and to her nurses, and she never stops moving (it's been that way since the womb).

Journal entry by Trace Jones

30 days, 8 hours of surgery, 6 rooms, 2 hospitals, 1 faithful and good God, and countless prayers from so many of you have led to REESE BEING RELEASED FROM MEDICAL CITY!

Just after noon today, Reese was discharged after her final X-rays came back clear. She was originally scheduled to go home yesterday, but they kept her a few more hours in an abundance of caution to ensure that her intestines were working properly.

Thank you to all of you for following along, praying, encouraging, sharing wisdom and experience, graciously giving, asking if there are any needs, and so much more. Tomorrow, I'll post the link to a Meal Train that good friends from church started for us.

When you think of Reese from time to time, please continue to lift her up as she continues to heal but also remember that we have a Heavenly Father who is always there with you. He is our hope in the midst of despair. He is our light in the midst of darkness. He is our peace in the midst of confusion. He is a constant presence in our loneliness and isolation.
