Rebecca B’s Story

Site created on November 14, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Hello, my name is Erica Herrera and I will be using CaringBridge to provide updates on my mother's journey. She has Polytheistic Kidney Disease, an inherited disorder in which cluster of cysts develop in the kidney. PKD does not have a cure and is often treated with dialysis and then a kidney transplant. The first step of this journey will be a bilateral nephrectomy, the removal of both kidneys, on November 22,2019. I will use the journal page to keep everyone updated on her recovery.

Mom is home! She’s walking around the house and taking each day one at a time. We’re so excited that mom and the donor are doing well. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. Due to Covid-19, she isn’t able to have visitors but please reach out to us via email or phone. Thank you!
