Journal entry by Tracy Gohn —
It’s been quite a while since the last update.
Becky was seeing an oncologist at Elmhurst hospital. In December she went to Mayo Clinic where they did a biopsy of her bone marrow. Mayo recommended that chemo be started right away. Her dr in elmhurst said no that they will continue to monitor her pet scans before they would start chemo. A couple scans later while showing slow growth of the lymph nodes the dr was still was just monitoring. Becky then got a third opinion at Northwestern. She had the pet scan earlier this week. She just had an appointment with the oncologist for the results from her pet scan. This is what she said,
“ The follicular lymphoma has become aggressive. Lymph nodes have gotten much bigger. I’m going to have a incision biopsy. In about a week then will start iv chemo in 3-4 weeks. He believes I have crest syndrome for the auto immune disease”
She recently showed that she also has an auto immune disease called crest syndrome. That I don’t know much about. Thank you all for your continued prayers for Becky. I will try to update more frequently.
