Rebecca’s Story

Site created on September 13, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

The News:
Rebecca has Stage  IV Cancer - it is an unknown poorly-differentiated (aggressive) cancer of unknown origin.  The cancer is in her liver and lungs.  There is also a large mass near her ovary connected to her uterus and another small mass in her sternum.

How we found out:
On Sunday, September 9th Becca began experiencing severe abdominal pain which she thought was a UTI (urinary tract infection) gone awry and thought maybe it had become a kidney infection or kidney stones. She called Mom, (Barb), to help her to the ER.  While at the ER they performed a CT scan that revealed cancer on her ovary that at that time doctors believed metastasized to her liver and lungs.

We are updating this page as we learn more.  We tend to update on the slower side of things to allow time to process, reflect, and make decisions as they can be on this roller coaster ride.

Please reach out to Becca as you normally would, she may or may not be up to discussing cancer and her treatment.  At this time it is her wish that questions about cancer and her treatment are directed to her sister, Elizabeth via FB private message at https://www.facebook.com/elizabeth.a.bremer or her brother, James via FB private message at https://www.facebook.com/james.bremer.
