Raymond’s Story

Site created on June 17, 2019

My Dad, Raymond Paul, was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) in 2015. We have worked hard this year to do all of the required steps to get him on the lung transplant list at Emory. He was placed on the list in April and he checks in with the lung transplant team weekly via a portal, goes to pulmonary therapy twice a week and goes to Emory for diagnostics and checkups with the transplant team every 4-6 weeks. He is also doing physical therapy at home daily to increase his muscle tone and strength. Now we wait, on the right lungs to become available!

We will use this site to post updates. Blogging and chronic terminal illness are both new topics for us. Please bear with us as we navigate both. Thank you for caring and loving my Dad!

Gratitude beyond measure!  That best sums up how Dad and I feel!  I asked him this morning how he was feeling and he said, “I feel excellent!”
Thankful for everyone who joined us along the way with prayers, support, financial contributions!
