Raymond’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. In early September, the Francis family got the shocking news that our Dad had been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. After further testing, it was found that Dad had a tumor in his brain located on his pituitary gland and also one on the optic nerve of his left eye. This has had a drastic affect on his vision, especially his depth perception. The cells from one of the brain tumor’s showed that the lung cancer cells were present. Dad will begin radiation treatment on Monday and will continue this daily for two weeks. After radiation, Dad will begin weekly immunotherapy treatments to maintain his current health status.
We are saddened and stunned by Dad’s diagnosis, but he’s handling this new hurdle with his incredibly strong Catholic faith and of course, with the grace that we have always witnessed him exude throughout his entire life!

As most of you know, up until this point, Dad has been very blessed with 88 years of excellent health! He’s been know to jog between his shots on the course, and usually golfs his age! Being a “Patient” is a lot different than being patient! It will be difficult for Dad to slow things down. Please share a memory or send Dad a note, just to cheer him up.

Dear Friends and Family, our Dad passed away peacefully this morning! He will ALWAYS be our hearts! He was a wonderful, kind, gentle and giving soul and will be greatly missed by all that were fortunate to have know him! Thank you all for your love and support during this difficult time. We will miss you dearly Dad, but thanks for all of the great memories with you that we will forever cherish!🥰. The skies are blue and there’s no wind today Dad! It’s a perfect day for a flight to Heaven and a game of golf🥰✈️🏌️‍♂️
