Raymond’s Story

Site created on May 20, 2018

Thank you for being here for Ray.

For those that don't know, Ray had a severe brain bleed in the cerebellum area. He had a successful surgery to treat the condition and is still recovering in the ICU. He is a fighter now as always.

We know his friends and family want to know what is happening and how they can help support him. This site is a way for the family to easily share information with those that love and support Ray. Through this site we will start a Go Fund Me page as well for those that would like to help with the financial responsibility from the long term hospital care needed for his recovery.

We know not everyone has Facebook and we feel this is a better way of sharing information. The family will continue to post updates here.

Many of you have become like family to Ray over the years and we know you want to be here for him. We are incredibly grateful for the love and support. However, at this time, we ask that you please wait to visit him until his condition improves and he is strong enough to receive visitors.

It is extremely important that he rests in order to recover. This is why visitors must be limited to immediate family only at this time.

When he is strong enough and the doctor gives the okay for visitors, we will communicate that here.

Since Coach Ray is very involved in the local and national boxing community, we know there are many people who care about him that his family may not know. We encourage you to share this site with anyone we may have missed. We want to be sure everyone who has been a part of Ray's life knows about this site to get updates.

We encourage everyone to share thoughts, memories, prayers and wishes here on this site. It will help bring strength to all of us. Please share all the love and positivity you have in your hearts. The family will read your posts and encouraging words to him to help him heal.

Journal entry by Robert Monge

Dear family and friends. Thank you all for support and for coming to show how much you love Ray. My mother was especially touched and even more proud of her son when she saw how many people’s hearts he has touched in his life. You all coming to show your respect for her, our family and Raymond has filled Mom's heart, all of hearts, even more.

But the time for visits is now past. Mom has asked for us to kindly stop visiting Ray but to wish him peace in this final stage of his life. He is close to God and I know God is ready for him. Please let him rest now and I will let you know when that time has come.
