Randy’s Story

Site created on September 19, 2019

For the past 42 years Randy has lived a life of service to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Kenya. Over the years many have come to know and love him. On September 13th 2019 he was diagnosed with cancer. We have set up this page so that all of you can be updated, and share your comments and support for him. Randy is a man of faith, and he believes that God never makes a mistake. He knows that God's will and timing are always perfect. He has devoted his life to sharing the message of hope and salvation to those around him. Through this trial he holds tight to the promises and truths of the bible.  All those who love him, and have been touched by his testimony and life, we ask that you pray for him. Pray for Phyllis as she cares for him. Pray that God will be glofied in all things, because "Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all tha we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21

Dear praying family and friends:

I have not been in the emotional state to post this final post, because it is hard!  So many things are hard, it is hard to see your loved one suffer, to hear him cry out in pain, to watch him get weaker daily!  I can only state that I was one lucky woman to be married to such a man as Randy Stirewalt for 50 years.  Though the battle was fierce and he struggled with cancer for many months.  On April 23, 2020 at exactly 3:15 in the afternoon with my arm around his neck he took his last breath and left this world to meet his Savior face to face!

The night before he went; he held a long meeting in Uganda in his dreams!  He was singing and praising with Pastor David Gagula.  I wondered why Gagula, since he has been with the Lord for 6 years already.  I went to him in the night and ask him to please be quite so as to allow me to sleep!  He just looked at me and said;  "you know I have to preach."  Then the next day he joined pastor Gagula in his eternal home!

So many pastors from Kenya there waiting to welcome their missionary!  It had to be a very sweet reunion!  Though I will daily miss him I can't be sad that his suffering is over.  He was truly a man of faith!   I am thankful that I too, one day will join him.

For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand.   I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Randy's journey has come to an end on this earth.  I pray that everyone who reads this will rejoice with him that his absent from the body lifts him into the glorious presence of our Lord.  Thank you for following his journey!
