Journal entry by Jennifer Shafer —
Well, the day has arrived! September 1st, 2021 was three months since open heart surgery. This means restrictions are lifted! I am still in disbelief that we went through what we did, that he is here, has no cognitive deficits (worse than before the arrest 🤣), and that he has recovered so amazingly! He continues to go to cardiac rehab twice a week and will be finished with that in early October. They have added some arm weight exercises to build his strength now that his restrictions are done. He will have a follow up appt next week with the cardiologist and I am only anticipating good news and how impressed the doc is. He had labs done today and will have a repeat echo some time in the near future. I am sure it is going to show his heart is amazing.
We are soon celebrating our five year wedding anniversary and have planned the honeymoon we never took! I am so thankful we were given a second chance to make the most of life together. ❤️
Now that we are somewhat back to normal life, I don’t plan on writing anymore updates. I don’t know how I could top this one today anyway. My heart is full and I just want to thank everyone one more time for all of your love and support! We love you all!🥰
