Randy’s Story

Site created on January 18, 2019

***PLEASE NOTE: donations through this site do not come to our family. The money goes to support this website which is a wonderful tool that we appreciate. I wanted to clarify because it can be confusing**

Randy had been battling Muliple Sclerosis, diabetes, reoccurring UTIs, and heart problems. After 11 years of not having control of what happens to his body, he has decided to take back control. He no longer wants to seek medical interventions  which often require extended stays in the hospital and rehab. He instead is focused on staying home and receiving comfort-focused care through hospice. We support his 100%. We feel sad that at some point he will no longer be with us, but also feel grateful to have this time to enjoy and spend quality time with him.

We do not have a timeline at this point. We will keep this page updated with any news we have.

Please check this website first before reaching out to one of us for news and updates. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Please keep Randy and our family in your prayers.

Many people have asked for ways to help. If you would like to help we would appreciate gift cards for take out. We like Subway, Culver’s, Tommy’s, Jimmy Johns, Apple Bees or Chili’s to go, Epic Deli, Plum Garden, Meat and Potatoes. We are at often at the hospital as well as maintaining some of our normal schedules.  This is not expected but we are trying to be better receivers of help.

 Thank you for visiting,
Randy, Carol, Hannah, and Max Broadus

Hi All,
Max, Hannah and I want to thank everyone for your prayers, cards, gifts, etc. We are still adjusting to our new normal at a not very normal time due to the quarantine. Below is a link to Randy’s obituary and memorial video.
I put it on Facebook but not everyone has an account.

We are greatful to have such a large and supportive family and friend group.

Thanks again for everything.

Love, Carol, Hannah and Max
