Welcome! I'm a wife and mom of 2 little ones (pregnant with #3) and I'm using this space to document my breast cancer journey.

Journal entry by Rachel Epperson

I'm home and recovering! I currently have 2 large incisions across my chest, and 4 "bulbs" with tubes coiled inside my chest cavity, coming out by my ribcage to help drain my surgery sites. Had a rough night after surgery, but things are improving. I have showered a couple times now, and trying to stay awake more and more, doing exercises to move the drainage. (And I have more pictures if people want to see but I didn't want to gross anyone out.) My aunt is taking amazing care of me, and if we can get the bulbs down to 1 oz of fluid in 24 hours, I can get them taken out--fingers crossed!

I'll have an appointment on Monday with the surgeon to follow up and hopefully get my pathology results.
