I love the quote that Don wrote: “Once you step into the unknown, it isn’t.” Will continue to pray for these next days as you finish up at Magee. Grateful for that place. So sweet to hear that you'll all be under the same roof. Praying God's protection, wisdom and discernment as you make this transition. Larry and I will continue to lift you all up to the throne of our heavenly Father. So glad He's available 24/7!!!!!! Love !
September 25th, I too will move back home with Rachel, Taylor and Hudson. Please pray I am up to the task of caring for them all and that I have the energy and skills to do so. My world has been turned upside down but in the best way as I never thought I would have this precious time I can spend with my daughter and her baby. My biggest prayer is that Rachel will be on her feet sooner than we thought and she won't need me and can do all the things she has always dreamed of with her baby. So many things in life I know none of us will ever take for granted again. We know God doesn't make mistakes and doesn't have a plan B. There is a reason for all of this to show His Glory. Rachel has shown such grace through all of this and Taylor has shown himself to be the husband of her dreams in ways none of us could ever have imagined. A huge thank you to Ann for selflessly watching Hudson every night so I could sleep and have the energy to watch him and Rachel all day. I love you like a sister. A big thank you to my friends and family that kept me going through this process with your love and donations. Thank you to my husband who 'held down the fort' and supported me while I lived in a hotel far away.
Thank you again, Taylor, for a clear and insightful update. You have a knack at seeing the big picture, even though none of us know the big picture completely like our sovereign God does. What comes to mind now is the saying that “Once you step into the unknown, it isn’t.” Gods loyal love is so evident if we are alert and grateful.
God has given us comfort by the comfort which he has given you and Rachel.
Pls pray for Grammy Ann Barkley, as I will say G’bye to Rachel and Hudson THIS Wednesday 9/18/19. I wil very much miss seeing Rachel almost every day since 6/11/19, but it’s even harder to say “see you in a month” to Hudson whom I’ve seen every single night since 6/11/19. Rachel continues to bring tears of joy and amazement to my eyes when I see her progress. But she will not change as dramatically as her 16 week old son. Even though it is bittersweet it is so right to take this next step toward home and family life, which does not include Grammy until later in October. Nana will be there for each new skill back home, so we are grateful to know you continue to be deeply invested in ministering to Rachel’s Recovery. Thank you,
Grammy Ann
Wonderful news, Taylor! Thank you so much for keeping us up to date. Even though being home may bring some trepidation with not having a medical team, it should be so restful and calming for all of you. Rachel will keep on building her strengths, but rest well, also. The best place to be! Our love and prayers are with you all!
“What’s more, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.” 💗
I like to think God put this in the book of Genesis so we make sure to get this promise right away, in the first Book.
Rachel and Taylor, Your journey of faith, perseverance, hope and love is a living testament to who God is and how he so dearly loves us.
Thanks, Taylor, for the encouraging update! We're so excited that you'll all be going HOME soon - and we'll be praying for all the adjustments as you get settled into daily life and routines! We love the ABC news video (maybe even more than the CBS one) - it really explains things well. What a journey of faith! You and Rachel should definitely write a book someday. :)
