Autumn’s Story

Site created on June 18, 2019

On June 10, 2019, Autumn was diagnosed with a rare form of soft tissue cancer in both of her lungs. (For the complete story, see the journal entry dated 6/21/19.) Please join us in praying Psalm 103:1-5 over her. We are trusting God for complete healing for this precious young lady. Thank you so much for your concern and for your prayers!

Journal entry by Blake Switzer

Apparently my post from last night got cut off, so I’ll try again. Yesterday we celebrated 4 years of watching God work since we received Autumn’s cancer diagnosis on June 10, 2019. It’s been a really hard journey for Autumn filled with many ups and downs. God has given her the strength to persevere.

She had her last scan in May and it showed no changes. All the tumors remain stable. Autumn’s energy level has been much better recently and she’s even able to serve as a counselor at Pine Cove City for the first half of the summer. Her group spends a week at different churches in the Houston/College Station area.

We got to see her this weekend after her first week with kids and the first thing she blurted out was, “7 of my 8 girls accepted Christ. The other one got saved at Pine Cove last year!” I don’t think her feet have touched the ground yet.

Please pay that God continues to give her the energy and stamina she needs to serve these precious kids. And pray for her complete healing. God is so good and we are so thankful for your prayers!
