Dear Ones,
You beautiful Mother, has had a special place in my heart since I met her at a Wesley Clark Campaign meeting. Her talents, spirit and dedication to do the right thing and fight for you beliefs jave been inspirational and sustaining. Much love to her Darlings. Her pride in you two was all-incompassing.

I am feeling so sad to hear the news of Priscilla’s passing. We have been friends for so long ...since our 20’s in Memphis. So many memories.Through the years and our many moves, we always managed to stay in touch through visits and phone calls. She was a touchstone for me, and I always thought we would grow old together. But not to be.
Calvert and Shelby, I can tell you, having lost my own mother a few years ago, happy memories of your time with her will always bring you comfort in the days and years to come. I wish you both well and would very much like to be included in the zoom call. Much love.

Tim and I are so very sorry to hear this. We will miss her smile and waves “hello” across the driveway. Herndon is not the same without her.

How very sorry I am to hear of this sad news. But knowing Priscilla, she would say, "Rejoice! I am free! I am still here! I am with you always! She was joy, she was hope, she was love, she was laughter, she was beauty and she was Priscilla. Years ago, Priscilla gave me a book, Anam Cara, A Book of Celtic Wisdom by John O'Donohue. Today as I reached for it from my bookshelf, I found Priscilla's business card (from Health Solutions where she once worked as Senior Consultant) tucked between two pages where I read:

"For the Celtic person, the new day was lived amidst nature. It is easy to have a creative sense of the day when you live in the presence of the great divinity called nature. For the Celtic people, nature was not matter, rather it was a luminous and numinous presence that had depth, possibility, and beauty."

There is also a beautiful invocation of the day in an ancient poem,

"The Deer's Cry"
I arise today
Through God's strength to direct me
God's might to uphold me
God's wisdom to guide me
God's eye to look before me
God's ear to hear me
God's word to speak to me
God's hand to guard me
God's way to lie before me
God's shield to protect me
God's hosts to save me from snares of devils
From temptation of vices
From everyone who shall wish me ill
Afar and anear, alone and in a multitude
I arise today.
(Trans. Kuno Meyer)

"The poem articulates the Celtic recognition of the omnipresence of God. At every moment and in every situation, God is the intimate, attentive, and encouraging friend."

Priscilla was also an intimate, attentive, and encouraging friend. She had many who entrusted her with their journeys, their stories, their concerns, their joys, and their most intimate fears. And like a good friend, she was there, holding them up and encouraging them that there was always hope in all things. It was about perseverance, grit, and fierce determination. For many, like me, she was the wind beneath their wings.

I love you, sweet Priscilla, and will miss you. Know that you will always live in my heart and I will cherish the beautiful memories of happiness and joy we shared. I am profoundly blessed because you were my beautiful friend, who now has and will forever be an Angel in heaven. Please watch over and guide us. When I see a beautiful flower, I will think of you. When a butterfly flitters in my yard, I will know that you are there. And as my heart fills with love and joy thinking of you, I will know..... It's you.

With my deepest sympathy,
Jane Nash

A lovely woman--in all aspects--leaves behind two lovely daughters, who made her last 15 months (and years before!) full of love and life. It's been such a selfish pleasure to have enjoyed her strong laughter and sharp responses to the rotten political environment. We'll carry on!

I am so moved and don't know what to say. What can I do to help you, her daughters? I definitely want to participate in a celebration of the incredible person she was.
