Journal entry by Priscella Burns —
Here I am as promised to tell you how my appointments went yesterday. I was supposed to have bloodwork and a CT scan looking to see if the cancer had metastasized and return today for the results. But I was blessed to be able to receive the wonderful news after the testing was complete. And oh how wonderful it was to hear those words..."I don't see cancer anywhere else!" What an amazing relief it was to hear!!
I was cleared to start my chemo regimen tomorrow and came home with a huge bag full of chemo pills and lots of different medications to help me tolerate it as well as can be expected. It will be administered three days a week for 20 weeks. I will have to go back at the beginning of each week to do bloodwork and then return home to start that weeks chemo.
In just four weeks time, from biopsy to beginning treatment, I have gone from saying "I can't do this again. I just can't!" to saying "I did it before and I can do it again!" Only by the grace of God and the strength given to me because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
I would appreciate prayers for tomorrow and throughout the treatment time to allow this medication to heal my body of this cancer and to allow me to be able to still have the strength and ability to continue to do my day to day activities. I want things to be as normal as possible for our family. It's a lot to handle at a young age but she is so strong!
I'll be back tomorrow to tell you how it's going. I hope I can take 11 pills at once. 😳
