Angie’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In October 2018, my mom, Angie Stallings, decided to visit a doctor due to experiencing some leg pain. They thought it was just an injured muscle of some sort and sent her to physical therapy. Physical therapy did not end up helping and the pain was increasing. After many months of pain and doctor visits, a doctor at Duke referred her for a PET scan that revealed 5 masses of varying sizes in her left leg. She was then referred for a biopsy.  On August 9th, the doctor called to confirm that the mass where the biopsy had been conducted was cancerous.  On Tuesday, August 20th, my beautiful mother was diagnosed with epithelioid sarcoma.

After many tests, the diagnosis was specified to epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE), a very rare form of sarcoma.

We are trusting God through this journey! He is able!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. James 1:2-3

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Journal entry by Sarah Curry

Six weeks of her beautiful soul running through the streets of heaven. Six weeks without her here. Six weeks of her experiencing complete joy and absolutely no pain. Six weeks of agonizing loss here on earth. For the followers of Christ, death marks the end of a life here on earth, but begins the beautiful promise of eternal life. And to know that she is finally made whole and has seen our Maker...Praise God.

Our entire family thanks you for your support and prayers through Mom's journey. We are so grateful for each of you. I now ask that you please continue to lift up our family in prayer. We rest in the hope of Jesus Christ, but we are broken and grieving. Though the sorrow may last for the night, the joy comes in the morning. And friends, we are desperately pressing on to find the morning.

Finally, if you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I would love to introduce you to Him. He is the Light of the World, the hope to the hopeless, the healer of the broken. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He is the way maker and the miracle worker. You, too, can have eternal life with Jesus. All you have to do is the make the decision to follow Him. He is the way, the truth and the life. He knows the plans He has for you; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future. And oh, how HE LOVES YOU.

Through all of this, God is still able.
