Journal entry by Curtis Powell —
I was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma P16+ stage 2 in February 2018. This took the form of a tumor at the base of my tongue. Given it's location surgery is not an option. Since then I have undergone 2 rounds of chemo and one of radiation therapy and get most of my nutrition through a feeding tube. There is currently no activity in the tumor, but lots of inflammation surrounding it which indicates cancer activity at the cellular level. Given that I am currently on immuno therapy with Opdivo to keep the cancer from spreading and will be for the foreseeable future.
