I received a call this morning that Patrick had just passed away peacefully at Harmony Home in Carmichael, CA. After completing my court appearance regarding Patrick's conservatorship, I went directly to Harmony Home to attend to Patrick's affairs but he had already been transported to Sierra View Funeral Chapel in Carmichael as we previously planned with Blossom Ridge hospice services. So I gathered up all of Patrick's belongings and took them to storage.

It was a beautiful, clear day in Sacramento this morning. I arrived at Patrick's room all decked out in a suit and tie like when we first met each other in Sunday School over fifty years ago. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping. I'd like to think it all gave Patrick an easy and bright pathway up to heaven. He didn't need any more obstacles to eternal happiness. He had suffered enough. He is now in the hands of God.

Please give your thoughts and support to Patrick's brother Jeffrey now and to all the extended Hyde family members as arrangements are being made regarding Patrick's final disposition. These are trying times for everybody and we can all use each other's support. And we can all remember the good times we shared with Patrick Hyde. We shall miss him. God bless.
