Newest Update

Journal entry by Sue Nelson

We returned to Ann Arbor on January 4 for another round of C Scan and labs and then met with Dr. Kraus, Phil's Oncologist.  The outcome was just what we had hoped for....results were "Unremarkable" all clear with no changes.  This is just the news we had hoped to hear! We are relieved and grateful.

Since I wrote in August we have lived life to the fullest starting with Tess and Oliver's wedding on August 27.  It was a joyful gathering of family and friends, Tess' radiance lifted the rest of us.  They asked Brad and Andy to be the Officiants and it was perfect!

We took a little Swissconsin vacation in October, staying in New Glarus, a very Swiss town.  We had Fondue and Schnitzel and even found our favorite Swiss wine.  We stopped in Fox Point to visit Andy's family and got to see all three Grands play their fall sport...2 Volleyballs and 1 Soccer.

We spent Thanksgiving at Jenny and Will's with all three girls, a lively time for sure.

Early December we made the trip back to Purdue to attend the unveiling of the signage of Nelson Hall.  Andy and his family came from Fox Point and Tess from Chicago  to share the moments.  We saw old friends   and loved being back on campus. We went to the Purdue Christmas Show, first time in many years and loved it all.

Brad, Christa and Kempton made it home for Christmas, coming early to mss the Blizzard of 2022.  Andy, Allie, Sophie, Luke and Avery came for New Years but only Jenny made it for New Years as the flu ran through their family from Christmas on.

We are staying with Jenny and Will again until January 10 when we will fly to Palm Springs for a few weeks and then drive to Santa Fe until June. I share all of this as evidence that we are well, still Road Warriors and loving/loving life albeit a little slower.

Always, it is all about Faith, Family and Friends meeting life with Grace. Gratitude and Grit.  Thank you all for your loving support through this journey and wishing you the best in 2023.
