The Krag Family ’s Story

Site created on May 30, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. Peter Krag passed out of this world on May 22nd, 2020. His friend and musical compatriot, Cynthia Braren, has set up this site, with the aid of Peter's brother, Chris, and cousin, Ellen Krag.  We are using this site for three things: for local friends and family to sign up for a one-hour time slot to visit Peter’s resting place on his family’s property, to provide a place for us all to share memories or thoughts of Peter, and to keep friends and family updated in one place, specifically about the online memorial happening on June 20. Please tap the follow tab on the home page to receive updates.

Seeing the messages from people who knew or played music with him over the last week have touched on so many of the qualities that we all loved about Peter: his gentleness, generosity, and quiet ways, and the voice that came through his music whenever he sat down at the piano.  That voice spoke to us all, so eloquently, skillfully and deeply.  Messages have also touched on Peter’s struggle with addiction and the pain of watching this beautiful being deteriorate, seem to rally, and then be gone.  His music, generosity of spirit, big hugs, humor, and beautiful smile will be missed forever.

Please join us in sharing stories and memories and messages of love for Peter here.  Click on “Thoughts and Well Wishes” to write your message.

Peter's family, Jesusa, David, and Chris, laid Peter's body to rest in a beautiful site on their property. Through this CaringBridge website, they have invited those who wish to visit Peter's resting site to choose a one-hour time slot from today through June 20th. Click on the "Planner" link to select the date and time.

There will be a virtual Memorial on June 20th. We will send out more details and links to the memorial through this site, so again, please click the follow button on the home page  if you would to receive updates about this!

Thank you for visiting and for being part of the circle of love around Peter.

For Directions to Peter's site : 76 Rivervale Rd. Shelburne, VT. ~ Take first driveway on the right. If you pass the solar field you have gone too far. Proceed to park on the grass on the side of the driveway or up to the parking area of the first barn. You will see the site to your left as you come down the drive, a small statue of Chris as a little boy, and Peters site set back, with a mowed path leading you there.
Feel free to bring something to lay on Peter's grave. There will also be a mailbox for cards.
Enjoy his beautiful resting site and magnificence of Peter all around.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Cynthia Braren

Hello to all that have been able to participate in Peter's Memorial this past weekend and to all of you who so caringly have paid tribute by keeping him in your hearts and minds, reaching out to family, and visiting this site regularly as a way to stay connected. Jesusa, David and Chris want to offer their deepest love and appreciation for all of you!

As we have now laid our dear Peter to rest, we continue on the arduous task of adjusting to life without him here in the form we are used to. It has been very comforting to hear stories from so many of Peter visiting them, showing up on nature walks through herons gliding over a lake, in rainbows, having goosebumps while telling stories of him, gracing us with his presence in the hard times and also in random visits of extreme calm and holding.  This is the new Peter we shall begin to know and have a relationship with. It is a comfort we can ask for and an absolute blessing to receive.

Everyone is invited to continue visiting Peter's resting site. David, Jesusa and Chris will enjoy knowing that you are coming. This Caring Bridge site and the planner will be up until June 29. After that please let Jesusa know you are coming by calling or texting her at 802-578-8280. These personal visits have been grounding and nourishing for them and they are so grateful!

Again our most sincere love and appreciation for all of you. Having the robust attendance at his memorials, and the deep reflection allowed by the music alongside the love and care everywhere created a wonderful healing for all. We are so thankful for all of you!

Much Love,

Jesusa, David, Chris, Ellen, and Cynthea
