Penni’s Story

Site created on November 23, 2022

One day I'm running around working at the church, taking kids to appointments, practices, games and the next day i'm told I have cancer and I cant walk on my leg. This page will be a place I (Penni) can share all about my cancer journey. I know it will be hard but I also know my heavenly father will walk this journey right next to me!

Journal entry by David Griffith

As most of you know, me and my family have been waiting on the results from my lung surgery. My doctor removed a 1.5 cm spot from my left lung. They sent this spot to pathology and it has come back with the news that we were not wanting. The spot is leiomyosarcoma, same as the cancer they removed from my knee. This means I have Metastatic leiomyosarcoma.
The good news is as of right now I am cancer free. I will get repeated scans every two months. Now knowing I have metastatic cancer, I will have to begin treatment as soon as they see more spots appear. Just praying that’s not anytime soon!
Still trusting in the one who made me and saved me. I am thankful for friends and family that carry me when I have nothing…this news was super hard to get. Regardless God is still good and my story is still being written! Thank you for all the prayers and support
