Penelope’s Story

Site created on April 16, 2020

Thank you for visiting!  My hope with this website is to help friends and family stay in touch and find ways to reach out and help if you are so inclined.  In mid-March I went to the ER with severe abdominal pain and was rushed into surgery.  A cancer tumor had perforated through the colon tissue,  causing a severe infection.  Emergency surgery was performed and I received a colostomy.  During the following 10 days in the hospital, further testing revealed that the cancer had metastasized to my liver. I will be starting chemotherapy on May 5th.

Stage IV cancer is difficult to face, but I'm staying positive and doing all I can to heal for both myself and my daughter's sake. I am grateful for all of the support I am receiving in all forms and am blessed to know so many caring people.
