Newest Update

Journal entry by samantha brocker

For the past month, we have been enjoying our time together. My Mom continues to impress doctors with her strength, energy, and fight. She is still quite active and very independent. She is currently doing much better than the doctor's anticipated she would be at this point. The only new issue to pop up is a lump and swelling in her left thumb. Doctors aren't sure if the lump is arthritis flaring up, something with the fungus or the cancer entering her bone. For now, we are just making sure to manage any pain that it gives her. She continues to go to the clinic two days a week to receive blood products. When not at the clinic, she has been a pretty busy lady. We have spent our time with family, making donuts, playing cards, getting manicures, dining out, and enjoying a few margaritas. We are so thankful for the time we have and will continue to appreciate each new day that we are given. She has really shown me what true strength looks like, to appreciate each and every day, and to dedicate your time to the things that you really love.
Next week, I will be on spring break. We plan to thoroughly enjoy this time together and take advantage of the nice weather. We have plans to get our nails done again, take a few day trips, try out a few different restaurants, and spend time with family and friends as long as she is up for it. Again, we welcome any and all visitors! If you would like to join us on any of our adventures, please let us know.
We want to thank everyone for the continued food, visits, thoughts, and prayers. They mean so much!
