Journal entry by Peggy Burke —
My Dear Friends and Family,
The timing of this post may seem a bit odd, but I wanted to leave you all with one final message before I conclude this final chapter of my life.
I can’t begin to express how blessed I have been to get this past year to create what feels like a second lifetime of memories. I started off 2021 recovering from a stay at my alma mater, aka Deaconess Hospital 😎 and ended it with a trip to the Kennel to watch the Gonzaga Bulldogs steamroll Dixie State🙌. What a difference a year makes! The number of family/friends that I was able to connect with during that time is second only to the “recent orders” list on my Amazon account😂. Whether it was a five-minute phone call to catch up or an overnight stay at my place when things got difficult, the time that I shared with you all meant more to me than you will ever know.
From a young age, I always knew that my calling in life was caring for others. The only thing I ever hoped to gain in return was to make the world a better place. I truly hope that I accomplished this mission. Please remember to stop and appreciate the small things in life, and don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself every once and a while. And please don’t worry about me. I have plenty of crib games to play with my sister Nora, balls to throw for Tucker, and bread loaves to bake with my mother.
Until we meet again,
-Practical Peg
