I did not know Paul personally however the way he touched myself and my children's lives was nothing less than incredible. He was the umpire when my boys were playing at Hickey field in Russellville in the 1990's. Not one child left the batters box without a high five and words of encouragement. His voice could carry across the entire park when he would say "strike three" and that batter left with an "out" but not feeling as if he had let the team down. He would get them next time because Paul told him he could. He kept the home plate brushed off so the boys coming home and the pitcher could see it. He never rooted for a team because he was rooting for every child out there to succeed and just do his best. He was priceless and forever in the hearts of the parents of the children he made an impact on. My son is now a grown man and was so inspired by him all those years ago he reached out to Paul a couple of months back to see if he meet with him health permitting. Needless to say we are heartbroken and sending prayers to your entire family. But please know his inspiration will live on in the boys of Russellville little league. I'm forever thankful him and his kindness. Marsha Rasdon
