Paul’s Story

Site created on August 15, 2021

On August 2, 2021, Paul lost his soul mate and the mother of his two beautiful daughters. Brittany was only 34, so despite her brief illness and hospitalization, it seemed unthinkable that she wouldn’t pull through. Paul and Brittany built a life together over the last nine years and now he’s left to rebuild it alone with a brave face for their young daughters, Jade, 6, and Mika, 3. They have been surrounded by loving friends and family throughout the days following Brittany’s death and funeral, but I decided to create this page to organize the long term assistance Paul will need to transition into his role as a newly single parent of two young girls (one with special needs). Brittany stayed home to care for the girls while Paul worked to pay the bills. Without childcare, he is now unemployed and trying to make a long term plan while still grieving and helping the girls process their own feelings. I know he has many friends and family who love him and are happy to offer their time, skills, or assistance with rebuilding their lives. Many of you have already gone above and beyond to do this. I know they can recover with our continued love and assistance. Thank you!! Ginesse Tiller Barrett (aka Aunt Nessie, aka the little, big sister)
