Paul’s Story

Site created on October 7, 2019

In 2017 Paul had colon cancer.  It was stage 2, they removed the colon, and he was fortunate no colostomy bag, chemo, or radiation was needed.  In late June, 2019, we learned the cancer had metastasized into the liver.  First opinion said he had about 12 months to live.  We got a second opinion from UTSW that said they thought they could cure him!  He did 4 rounds of chemo, then a scan to see if the tumor had shrunk.  It had not.  It had grown and a new tumor showed up on a lymph node.  So, we made the difficult decision to focus on quality of life, rather than attempt a stronger version of chemo.  We've been keeping immediate family updated.  Now, we want his friends and extended family to be aware of his story and what he's going through.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated!  Mary
