Journal entry by Arica Bishop —
Hi everyone,
The consultation with the surgeon went well and Paul's surgery is tomorrow (Friday 8/17) morning. Paul understands the risks and rewards of this procedure and has decided this is his best choice. They will be cutting out a section of his stomach along with the tumor and then reshaping his stomach so it can function properly.
Recovery time is expected to be a few days in the hospital and then a few weeks in an assisted living facility.
Please keep him and his family in your thoughts as we go through this.
Thank you all so much for your support so far.
