Journal entry by Corey Chaplin

Hello everyone, this is Paul writing this post. Today, November 2,  is the one year anniversary of when I was admitted into the hospital for Covid pneumonia.   I am doing extremely well with the blessing and help of God almighty, my family,  and many medical staff personnel. It involved a lot of days, weeks and months of gruesome physical and occupational therapy to get where I am today.

I would like to personally thank my loving wife Wendy, Marissa, Danny, Corey Brent and Jamie for being my advocates when I was unable to speak and make decisions on my own.  Wendy, who came and conducted her own physical therapy sessions with me and took care of my needs. Although this was a difficult process it helped tremendously in regaining my strength back. Thank you to the medical staff, who gave life saving suggestions , and all the nurses and doctors who cared for me. Susan, thank you for coming,  giving me a haircut and making me a beautiful life story t-shirt quilt I will cherish, and keeping Wendy alive and the kids updated. I am so thankful to all who came to visit, I can't express what that meant to me,  (I had a couple of friends that would periodically come and feed me ice chips when I was so weak I couldn't lift a cup of ice, fork or spoon).

Wendy and I both want to thank ALL who sent cards, monetary gifts, vehicle assistance, food, calls, texts, CaringBridge messages, and most of all the PRAYERS uplifted for me, our family, and my medical team, that God heard and answered. Thank you JESUS, my healer, the great physician, and provider of everything!

I was in four different hospitals for ninety five days and somewhere along the way I was named the miracle man. I was asked by our church missions director to write about my experience during this time. If anyone is interested in reading it, I would be happy to email it to you, just let me know.  My email is pkchaplin@gmail.com or my cell (660) 864-4077.

As of October 3, 2022, I returned back to work for Jack Cooper Transport after two years, that is another miracle in itself.  I did not return as an auto transport driver, but as a yard crew member in Claycomo, MO. Words can't express my gratitude for all the support my family and I received during this difficult time.  THANK YOU ALL!

May God bless you all, for blessing me and our family, through this season!

                In Him,

                Paul K. Chaplin

May the LORD show you His favor and give you His peace."
