Due to time constraints at the grave-site, here is my eulogy for my precious Aunt.

I saw Paula in many roles while I grew up.
The most important role to me of course was as my favorite aunt. She would spend hours
putting make-up on me and my sisters when we were small girls. Then she would dress us up
in her beautiful clothes. We of course had to show off how beautiful we were with a fashion
show for all the family.

We could count on her for Big Adventures when we visited, such as trips to the zoo and train
rides.

You would think I would be jealous when she became a mother herself, but she gave us great
cousins to play with and great friends to grow old with.
She stepped into the role of my second mom when we moved to Texas and my mom still lived in
California. I was a first time mom and she was always there for me.
When my mom moved to Texas, I saw her as a sister to my mom as she supported my mom taking
care of my grandmother during her journey through dementia. And I saw Paula as a devoted
daughter to both of my grandparents. It has been such an honor to be along her side during this horrible journey with dementia.
Even though she lost the ability to communicate, she remained a delight for those around
her with a hug and and an "I love you" to everyone she saw. I will miss her smiles, her hugs and especially her saying “I have always loved you."
