No truer words have been so eloquently written! You’ve so beautifully summarize the feelings so many of us have had when the thank cards have been written, the flowers begin to fade and life stops excusing us from showing up. Embrace your grief and let the tears fall when they come, give space for the full range of emotions without feeling guilty or ashamed and finally....know your not alone!! “You’ll never forget your mothers face, the sound of her voice, the gentleness of her touch… They let you know you were loved. You’ll never forget the story she told, the traditions she handed down… They let you know who you are. You’ll never forget the lessons she taught, the things she stood for… They are her gift and her legacy.”

I know exactly the feelings you are speaking of... You wonder how the world is going on around you when you don't know how you are going to get through this day let alone the next... Trust me when I say day by day it gets more manageable. I can't say it gets any easier but you learn how to get to the next day... Hugs and prayers to all of you!

I’m so sorry for your family’s loss.

My dad has been ill since November 2012 (congestive heart failure) and in July we were told there wasn’t much time left. He passed away on August 27 and it seems as though everything has come to a screeching halt. The next morning my mom was quite upset because she only had to get herself dressed and ready for the day; Dad no longer needed help.

I wish I had some true words of comfort for you, but there really are none. I know that my dad isn’t in pain anymore, but that doesn’t seem to be enough.

As Alexis said, hug your parents.

Then hug them again.

Continued hugs as you explore this new part of the journey, it's certainly not easy....Mom's are amazing people. You fortunately have wonderful blessed memories to fall back on during these difficult days. She is so proud of you, always has been, watching and guiding you from above. You will feel her through the sunshine rays, rainy clouds, crisp mornings of fall and treasure the good times you have with your family creating your own new moments together.
