Patty’s Story

Site created on August 7, 2018

Patty, is a survivor and someone who has taught us to strive to be better and continually advocate for our selves. She was diagnosed with Stage III Pancreatic Cancer in March 2015. At first she was told it was an inoperable tumor but she persisted and endured continuous chemo and radiation therapy April - October. By December 30th Patty was prepping for surgery and considered "Cancer Free" as of January 1, 2016.  The cancer was powerful but she was stronger, it kept coming back and she kept fighting. She called it "Whack a Mole".  Unfortunately as of recently the cancer has become intolerable. Patty has become more and more weak,  and is unable to continue treatments.  As of August 1st she was admitted to the hospital and began hospice at home on August 7th.
This site has been created because many of you have asked how you can help the Marschalk family.  During the last week we have been eating nothing but fast food. It's not because we've gotten sick of Tom's cooking (he does an amazing job), but we'd rather devote all of our time to being with her.
If you wish, you may sign up through the link below "Meal Train" and select a day to bring a meal for the family.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Kelly Magnus

Again each one of you has been amazing this past 3 and a half years. We really appreciate all of your love, support and compassion.

This Saturday we will be celebrating the life of our friend, sister, family, mom and wife. She was always positive, so positive that sometimes it made us forget she was even sick. Patty fought very hard and so strong for so long.

Visitation will be at 10am at St. Martins Church in Rogers, MN followed by the service at 11am and luncheon thereafter.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Evans Nordby Funeral Home or the church. Below you will find a link to the full obituary with further details.
