Journal entry by Josh Weidmann —
The best kind of popularity is the kind you don't know you have. ⠀
⠀
Patten is all the rage at our house. The kids love him. The neighbor kids love him. Molly and I can't get enough of him. ⠀
⠀
When you live in fear of losing someone, you cling a little tighter when you have them back. Molly and I have snuggled a little longer, stared a little more, and soaked up every smile, noise, and coo.⠀
⠀
A few nights after we returned from the hospital, Patten had the best night of sleep he has ever had in his short life. He is sleeping and eating like a champ. Thank you so for your prayers. ⠀
⠀
I was texting with a friend tonight and said, “If anything, God has grown my faith in the power of prayer through this trial.” Patten has had so many people praying for him; I am convinced this is why he is doing so well. ⠀
⠀
Your prayers humble us. Your gifts of food and finances have blown our minds. Thank you for helping us monetarily. We don't know all the hospital expenses yet, but we know it will be steep. You have helped us climb that mountain, and we trust it will all work out. ⠀
⠀
We are grateful to have him home, and so is the neighborhood.
