Site created on September 5, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Patricia was admitted to Huntington Hospital  on Wednesday August 5th when she was diagnosed with a ruptured aneurysm ( subarachnoid hemorrhage). On Friday, August 28th a shunt was surgically implanted into her brain. That is the situation as of today, September 5th, 2020.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Alexandra Matejic

Patricia was 100% totally assisted yesterday to get her out bed for the first time and was placed in a recliner for two hours. I was able to facetime with her for a couple minutes in the early evening and talk to her. Patricia was unable to respond. I asked the nurse if Patricia was able to hold a pen and write on a pad as she is non-verbal. The nurse responded she does not have the strength to hold the pen. So frustrating for Patricia and all her family and friends she is unable to communicate at this point. Will update as I have new information.
