Connie and I were deeply saddened to hear that Pat had passed away. We first met Pat and Phil as our next door neighbors on Coers Drive. Then later she was our son's principal at Crockett. We were fortunate to have a caring neighbor and her students and teachers were fortunate to have an amazing leader. I will always remember Pat's wonderful laugh and her beautiful smile. Rest in peace Pat.

Pat Curtain was a good leader, and a wonderful friend. She always was kind and so encouraging. I was blessed to travel and learn from her in CPDT at San Marcos.I loved her laugh so much. It was contagious. It was a pleasure and an honor to call her my friend.

Pat Curtain was the Head of the Class. She led through inspiring others to be their best. I remember Pat being the first person to be at my door with support for ideas to make education special for all students and teachers. San Marcos educators grew with her leadership and kindness. She could always make you laugh and want to be around her. She was a special lady and will be missed.

I remember Pat first as a teacher of my children, then as a fellow teacher with whom I shared ideas and methods for instruction, and finally as my mentor and leader with attributes which fostered a school environment in which both children and teaching staff could flourish. Pat was a wonder- fierce in making learning joyful for all and gentle in nudging us to better things. We still walk in the light she left.

Pat hired me as a second grade teacher in 1986 at Crockett Elementary. She had built a campus filled with kindness for students and faculty. She was always encouraging & inspiring. A true lady of class! My thoughts and prayers to her family.

What a blessing to have known Pat at the Round Rock campus of Texas State University. For several years our offices were next to each other so I was fortunate to spend many hours in her company. She was a cheerleader, wise sage, extremely hard worker and caring professional. She had a calm, peaceful demeanor that always made you feel supported. When you talked with her, she really listened and gave thoughtful advice when asked. More than once when confronted with a student issue, I've thought, "What would Pat C. do?" Prayers for you all during this difficult time.

As a young teacher I was blessed to be hired, mentored and befriended by Pat . She always provided words of encouragement, offered excellent advice and had a wonderful sense of humor. Pat had a way of making each teacher feel loved and supported - she was authentic, kind, and wise, and many, many educators benefited from her intellect, grace, and friendship. Prayers for Phil, and the family.

I count it a joy and privilege to have known Pat, first as a principal who always inspired me to be a better teacher and a better person, and then even as a dear friend. Her support and enduring love to all who knew her were unwavering. She will be missed by so many and my words of comfort are with you, our friend as well, Phil Curtin.

I enjoyed years of special time with Pat while I did her hair. She was always full of inspiration . I remember her sharing a new book she planned to give each teacher at Crocket Elementary. It was called BALCONY PEOPLE. A Balcony Person is an affirmer who emphasizes the positives and cheers you toward them. Pat was that affirmer to many, including me. I love her for it and I will never forget her. Phil, I love you too.
