Journal entry by Ann Watt

So, yesterday - after an uneasy weekend of knowing mom would be discharged Monday but not knowing where she would go - mom was finally moved into acute care at Madonna Hospital. Whew! We are relieved because the goal of acute care is to help mom regain her independence quickly and move home. In terms of therapy we’ve heard it called “boot camp”. She will receive 3 1/3 hours of speech, physical and occupational therapy a day over a 10-14 day period, so pretty intense.

I got a call from the social worker there this morning with information about her daily schedule, and I’m sure we’ll have updates to pass on each day.

I asked her about cards, flowers etc. and she she said to address them to mom in Room 144 at Madonna Hospital, 5401 South Street, 68506.

Thanks for all the positive vibes, prayers and well wishes! Continue to send happy thoughts! ❤️
