Journal entry by Pamela Bahr

After living with chronic back pain after breaking my back, 4 major back surgeries & implanted hardware for over 20 years, I thought 2018 was my year finally to enjoy a life beyond the pain. Engage with family & friends more often because the pain was being managed.  At last, returning to a new normal being returned to my family after 28 years & modern technology!
Sometimes, good things must either be short lived or come to an end.
It's funny how things happen in life, how one thing leads to another. While my back pain started to ramp up with no rhyme or reason, I kept returning to my pain management Drs. trying to figure out how to resolve or alleviate the problem.  I was sent to a neurosurgeon who took MRIs.
The MRI showed a mass collapsing my right lung which needed to be checked asap.
The mass showed up as small cell lung cancer. That's the bad news. The good news is that because of my chronic pain, and by the Grace of God, we caught it before it has spread anywhere beyond my lung.
Cancer is not a poor mans disease & no one in the medical field works for free.
I was taught as a child to handle these issues on our own, it's our business & we'll get thru it. I have waited a while before deciding to open an account because of those teachings but I have medical needs that just won't be covered that I lay awake nights worried about.
I've prayed about this for a long time.
I can't work, but will when we beat this.
It's something anyone going thru cancer treatment should never have to worry about but when the mail comes & it's all medical bills, it's hard not to worry about it.
I pray anyone who reads this, never has to deal with cancer in any form or chronic pain in any form or both at the same time.
If interested, please donate to a worthy cause to help me win this fight with cancer without the financial worry.
I appreciate anyone who has read my story
I appreciate with sincere gratitude & humility for anyone who has made a donation. There is a special place in my heart for you.
