Newest Update

Journal entry by Pam DeGrandi

Hi everyone
Just an update, this process is slow moving but I needed time to heal before they could start radiation. I am definitely feeling better, getting around better which is great. So, radiation starts this Thursday M-F for 6 weeks. They will be doing both areas at the same time which is better for me. They said the first couple weeks should be normal then the last 3 weeks and a month after treatment ends will be the worst. Unfortunately the location is horrible and I’m hoping I will fair well. I will have to manage the lymphedema as well however I already changed my diet, exercising to try to keep at bay the best I can.  Once radiation is done, if I decide to do the immunotherapy clinical trial that will be an infusion every 3 weeks for a year. KeyTruda will the drug, if anyone knows anyone who has had this, please let me know. Side effects are a bit scary but the outcome keeps the cancer away. I have 6 weeks to decide. That’s about it for now. Thank you all for your support, prayers, food, gift cards and donations. It is much appreciated and was an enormous help. Keep praying still have a long road to go but I’ll get there!!
