Newest Update

Journal entry by Lacey Sundeen

Hard to believe today marks one year.  We had no idea how things would change that morning.  In some ways, time has flown and at times, it feels like time stood still.

From Paige:
Well hello and welcome again to this crazy ride I’ve been on the past year. I’ve had lows and highs all the way through.

The skydiving accident happened a whole year ago today… but I honestly can’t remember the accident at all and then was in a coma for 3 weeks.  It changed so much about my life and those that love me. There have been so many ways that were so hard to face and there have been many more blessings and positive points. It’s given me a new perspective.  I’ve learned so much, I’m a miracle walking, and proud to be here.

I feel so thankful for my families faith, Johns, friends, those I work with, the medical team,  and even those I’ve never met before. For your love, well wishes, thoughts, prayers, donations, and time. I made it!  I’m breathing, walking, able to think, and able to feel pain- that’s what I’m very thankful for.

I’m currently unable to drive, so no hospice work for this girl yet; but this month, I have an eye test coming up to see if I can drive again. I also have a 3rd EMG later this month… ouch the stinging hurts!! I had to move in with my parents, thankfully they had a room! I’m working out, going to speech therapy, cleaning for grandma weekly, doing some work around mom and dads house, painting, obviously taking care of my 32 plants 🖤 and hanging out with Murphy + those close to me.

Thank you so much for the support and prayers.  It has meant a lot to me on this recovery. I’ll keep ya all updated on my continued progress.

-Paige

God is good.

Reflecting back, our family will never forget how we were told, “Paige had a rough landing and is being transported to the hospital”.   Rough landing?!  We all questioned what that meant but our prayers started in that moment as we rushed to Eau Claire to see.  God has seen us through some trying and hard moments…he has also celebrated with us in big and small victories.  Miracles really.  Praise God for all of the beautiful and promising moments.  We are so so blessed that God has been ever present and given us the gift of Paige’s recovery.  Our girl is a fighter.  She has battled and continues to battle.  Words can’t explain how grateful we are to have Paige.  So we are celebrating today!  Not only is it Mother’s Day but it marks one year that God blessed us with more time with our strong, sassy, and beautiful Paige.

Hugs and love to all.

And please continue to pray for Paige.  💚
