Paige’s Story

Site created on December 14, 2020

Welcome to Paige’s surgery update page. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. This will be easiest for me to manage while in the hospital so I don’t have to continue to update Facebook or send out texts.

Here’s a brief description of how we got to where we are now.
As most know Paige has been suffering from seizures since August of 2018.  After a year and a half of misdiagnosis she had a gran mal seizure Christmas Eve 2019.   Since then she has received a correct diagnosis of right temporal focal epilepsy!  Even with a multitude of medicines she continues to have almost daily seizures.  She has had 4 MRI’s, a PET scan and a CT scan to prepare for surgery this Thursday, 12/17.  I’ll journal hopefully daily to let everyone know how things are going.

Journal entry by Rachel Keranen

We are heading home tonight!! We were moved to the neurology wing and it’s so crowded we have to share a room. Even though I’m sure the girl next to us is very sweet, Paige needs to get some rest so home will be a much better place to recover. She is only using Tylonel to manage pain so I can manage that.
