Hi Everyone just a wonderful update on Danton . He is over a month out from his surgery and doing very well. Just had his two week labs and first time in over a year they are stable! His weight and fatigue is still an issue so we will find out next week at Cardiologist appt if he may need to go to Philadephia. We feel this good news is best Christmas gift, we are blessed beyond belief. Thank you again for everyones continued support, keeps us going! Will post update from transplant team after next weeks appt.

So we are almost a month out from an amazing surgery where Dr Rhoades placed 15 stents and rebuilt Dantons Inferior Vena Cava which was completely blocked. Danton is a little less short of breath, and labs are stabling out, his heart rate still goes high but recovers faster. We see a bit of improvement every week. We know this is not a fix and ultimately a heart transplant is in his future but transplants for Fontan Congenital Defects are still new and success rates are not the numbers we like to think about, so this buys us time, takes a little pressure off his overworked heart so risks can improve and research improves. These are the scariest and sometimes hardest moments, as I can take a breath and return to some normalcy but still be watching for changes. We are blessed with the medical staff we have and prayers keeping our faith strong.
