Journal entry by Kaylin Everett

Chest Tube is coming out!!! So excited! This means I can dress him in real clothes and won’t be as nervous to pick him up!

Feeds are still a struggle. Little man is just so tired from his surgery that he falls asleep before he’s done. Right now they are allowing me to breastfeed for 15 minutes, then give bottle for 10, and whatever is level of the 72 ml goes in the feeding tube. The dr is hopefully the feeding tube can come out tomorrow.

There was talk of a possible discharge in 48 hours and my heart skipped a beat! If Kaden keeps kicking ass we might be able to leave on Friday!!!! If not Friday the weekend is looking very promising.

We do have the air BnB until the 20th and it’s no refundable, so I think we might stick around SF for a couple days just to be close to the hospital in case of emergencies.

We are one step closer to putting all of this behind us and going back to our normal lives! I am extremely exhausted but highly optimistic. I fall more in love with this sweet little boy everyday.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me, doantaed to the go fund me, sent Kylie big sister gifts, or said a prayer for my family. We love you guys!
