Journal entry by Cristie Boring —
Otto completed one more round of immunotherapy in April, and he had an MIBG scan to determine its effectiveness yesterday. Unfortunately, it appears the immunotherapy was unsuccessful. The cancer has worsened in the existing areas of boney disease, and has spread to his spine. We are still waiting on the biopsy results for bone marrow involvement. Otto’s team is suggesting MIBG therapy next, which will take place at Seattle Children’s. We are considering getting a second opinion from the hospital in NYC that specializes in resistant neuroblastoma and relapse. I will post another update once next steps are determined and a concrete plan is in place. Thank you everyone for your continued support and positively <3
